The mission of Bringle Lake Park in Texarkana, TX is to give visitors the feeling of being immersed in a natural woodland setting. When it was time to plan a new playground, a more traditional design—with bright primary colors—wasn’t going to work. In addition, the equipment would need to withstand Texas weather conditions.
Our team crafted safe playground structures that look like real logs and trees but will stand up for years to the rigors of climbing kids and the Texas climate. We used super-tough glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) to create log crawls, stump steppers, log-inspired swing posts, and a climbing rock. Using GFRC also allowed our artists to construct textured pieces that mimic the look and feel of the surrounding trees. The material is also fire resistant and low maintenance, making it an ideal choice for the natural setting.
This custom playground blends beautifully with the surrounding woodland, yet it still provides a safe place for kids to move, climb, jump, and imagine.
