The City of Nairobi Park in Denver, CO needed fun, child-friendly play structures for its extensive renovation and revitalization project. It was essential that the sculptures blend with the park's safari theme, which reflects Denver's relationship with its sister city, Nairobi, Kenya.
The 4 Kids artists created a lion cub, hippo, and giraffe - all crafted with realistic details to inspire young imaginations. The trio was constructed with glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP), a super-durable material that, pound for pound, is stronger than steel. GFRP is also unaffected by freeze-thaw cycles, making it the ideal material for Denver winters. As a result, these play sculptures will remain vibrant, low maintenance, and ready for play for many years.
The safari sculptures have become a favorite among the park's younger visitors. The giraffe - which towers 12 feet over the playground - is especially popular with little ones.
