The Mississippi Children's Museum has done it again! With whimsical features placed along an educational trail, children can enjoy learning and get a breath of fresh air while walking the trails.
A Trail of Fun and Learning
The Challenge
Designing something that seamlessly combines education and fun to capture children’s interest is a significant challenge in itself. Designing a climber that provides multiple activities adds another challenge, but one we jump at! The team at the Mississippi Children’s Museum in Jackson tasked us with creating just that.
Solution
When it comes to fun, nature, exploration and education, we challenged ourselves to making something that everyone would enjoy. Using glass fiber reinforced concrete, an architectural material, we created an engaging structure.
Result
Nestled along Spotter’s Adventure Trail stands the newest feature: The Log Climber and Slide. This climber replicated the appearance an actual lo, with textured GFRC which mimics the natural look and feel of tree bark. Despite its appearance, the surface is smooth ensuring a safe climbing experience for children. Kids will have a blast crawling through the hollow log, or climbing up and sliding back down.
